Headteacher’s Welcome
I am very pleased to welcome you to Pewsey Vale School. This website gives an introduction to our ethos, our students and what together we are able to achieve. I understand how important it is to choose the right school and hope that you will take advantage of our ‘open door’ policy to see us in action.
Pewsey Vale School is an 11-16 academy located in rural Wiltshire on a well-equipped site which we share with Pewsey Primary School and Pewsey Leisure Centre. This flexible accommodation, together with excellent facilities and resources enables us to maximise the opportunities and challenges we offer our students.
Pewsey Vale is a truly comprehensive school, serving the community of Pewsey and the nearby villages. There is a unique feel to the school, which is centred on the belief that every student should be encouraged to make the most of all their talents. We offer a personalised educational experience through a rich curriculum and an extensive range of activities outside the classroom. When students leave, they are confident and well-rounded young people who are able to form good relationships with others and are well equipped to deal with life beyond school. We expect them to be successful and fulfilled and to have enjoyed and been enriched by their experiences at school.
Pewsey Vale School expects the highest standards of student behaviour and discipline. We have a firm and fair approach based on mutual understanding. We insist on traditional values such as courtesy, honesty and respect. Students are supported to redress any misdemeanours and learn from their mistakes so that they develop a sense of responsibility for their actions and grow into mature, responsible and, most importantly, happy young adults.
As a small school our staff, both teaching and non teaching, know our students and their families very well. They encourage individual students to develop and achieve in all areas of the curriculum and beyond. We are proud of the achievements of all our students.
